Dance on screen
“Dance on Screen” aims to raise the visibility of dance films. For the 2026/2027 edition, Swiss and international short and ultra-short films may be submitted in four categories. The 7th edition will once again feature short films, documentaries and feature films showcasing dance in all its dimensions.
Founded in 2019, “Dance on Screen” has developed into a key hub for dance film. It presents short films, documentaries, feature films and augmented-/virtual-reality works that explore dance in all its cultural and social dimensions. Filmmakers are invited to present their work at events across Switzerland in 2026/2027.
Through the fusion of movement, space, sound and cinematography, dance films tell stories that cannot be expressed in words. From abstract to deeply emotional, from traditional to immersive, lived and imagined stories unfold on screen. More than simply a screening platform, “Dance on Screen” curates Q&As, interviews and masterclasses with renowned figures from dance film.
