The multidisciplinary festival La Bâtie in Geneva will open on August 28 with the dance piece “1000&1 BPM_Odyssée”. It is the result of a unique collaboration between the La Bâtie festival, the Pavillon de l'ADC, the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, and the Compagnie Arts Mouvementés/Yasmine Hugonnet.

“1000&1 BPM_Odyssée” is the first step in freelance choreographer Yasmine Hugonnet's exploration of the dancing body, its emotions and states. What rhythm determines the course of our lives? What impulses vibrate in a moment of forgetfulness, ecstasy, alertness or devotion? Nine dancers from the Grand Théâtre de Genève ballet company immerse themselves in Yasmine Hugonnet's intense dance and explore the pulse of this emotional body to the original music of composer and long-time collaborator Michael Nick.

Performances will take place on August 28, 29, and 31, as well as on September 1 and 2, 2025. For dance artists, a master class with the choreographer will also be organized on January 29 and 30, 2026, in collaboration with AGMD (formerly RP Genève). Further information: formations@agmdanse.ch.

For his last edition as director of the La Bâtie festival, contemporary dance enthusiast Claude Ratzé has invited the following dance companies, among others: Boris Charmatz, Lia Rodrigues, François Chaignaud, Harald Beharie, Ruth Childs, and Ludovico Paladini.
