From February 27 to March 17, 2024, Kylie Walters, the new director of Théâtre Sévelin 36 in Lausanne, will host the sparkling 26th edition of Printemps de Sévelin, an international contemporary dance festival.

Philippe Saire founded and directed the festival, as well as the Théâtre Sévelin 36 for more than 25 years. This year's 26th edition, however, will be further developed under the direction of the newly appointed Kyle Walters, former dancer, choreographer and director of choreographic studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Lyon.

Les Printemps de Sévelin, brings together choreographers, artists, dancers and spectators driven by the energy of street styles. Events lead from the stage to the skate park, and host an array of styles from pole dancing to headbanging, from contemporary dance to All-Style battles.

Eleven dance performances, including three Swiss creations, of international and regional significance will be presented over three weeks.

In addition to a piece by choreographer Gaya de Meideros (BR/PT) on the 27th and 28th of February, the official opening evening, on the 29th, will include the Swiss premiers of Loraine Dambermont`s (BE) "Toujours de ¾ face" and Sofia Mavragani`s (GR) "Patagos".

In a joint evening in the second week, on the 5th and 6th of March, David Zagari (CH/FR) will premiere his creation "Le Piquet" (Pole Dance) with Sévelin's co-produced artist Baptiste Cazaux (CH/FR) in "GIMME A BREAK!!!".

The festival will come to a close on the 15th and 16th of March with premieres by Lausanne artists, Clara Delorme and Gèraldine Chollet, who are both co-produced artists of Sèvelin 36.
